Texas Cyclone was installed in 1976 and is the park's wooden coaster. It is modeled after the famous Coney Island Cyclone. The ride opened with 4-bench Philadelphia Toboggan Company trains. After an lawsuit in 1981, the trains were changed to 3 bench PTC trains. After another lawsuit in 1987, the trains were changed again to Morgan "coffin cars". This is the least liked stage of Texas Cyclone's evolution. In 2001, when the ride had its 25th anniversary, the headrests of the infamous coffin cars were removed, providing a much better ride experience.
