Mayan Mindbender was installed in 1995 as the first indoor roller coaster in the state of Texas. It is a family attraction that was built by Vekoma of the Netherlands. The ride was originally installed at Boblo Island as Nightmare in 1988. It operated there until 1993 when the park closed. Six Flags bought the coaster and installed it in AstroWorld in 1995. This ride is one of the better themed rides in the park including a nice queue and station. In 2002, the trains recieved new paint jobs and in 2003, they recieved seatbelts.
