Texas Tornado was installed in 1998 as AstroWorld's 3rd Schwarzkopf coaster. The ride first opened in 1986 on the German fair circuit as Thriller. It was one of the most intense fair coasters ever, exerting up to 6.7 Gs on the riders at times. The ride featured a colorful yellow, blue, white, black, and red color scheme. New trains were added in 2001, but due to difficulties, it only operated the first day of the 2001 season. It didn't operate any of the 2002 season. The ride was then dismantled and first drop reprofiled before it was sent to Six FLags Marine World as Zonga. The ride also recieved new, shorter trains.
