Ultra Twister was installed in 1990 as the only pipeline coaster in America. It was first installed in 1986 at Six Flags Great Adventure. It operated there for 3 years before being removed in 1988. When the ride was moved to AstroWorld, the lift was modified from a 90 degree lift to a 45 degree lift. The ride features a 92 foot drop at an 85 degree angle and 3 heartline rolls, including 2 that are traveled through backwards! In 2004, the ride was painted blue and green as an update for it's old white and blue color scheme.
