Viper was installed in 1989. It is a park model of a Schwarzkopf Looping Star. It was first installed at Six Flags Over Mid America (now Six Flags St. Louis) as Jet Scream in 1981. After the 1988 season, the ride was dismantled and sent to AstroWorld where it recieved a tunnel on the first drop. Thanks to AstroWorld maintenance, the ride has aged very well. In 2004, its tunnel recieved a new coat of paint.
